DEFORMES es un colectivo chileno multidisciplinario de performance compuesto por: Gonzalo Rabanal, Perpetua Rodríguez, Camila León y Samuel Ibarra.
Nuestra organización surge a partir de la unión de distintos intereses relacionados con la producción, la investigación, el registro y el análisis en torno al cuerpo y sus posibilidades expresivas. Un cuerpo entendido no solo desde su corporeidad individual sino extendido a sus proyecciones sociales y culturales que propician la elaboración de un discurso metafórico y estético.
El objeto de nuestra asociación ha sido el de abrir nuevas ventanas de dialogo e intercambio cultural en el área de la performance involucrando el discurso teórico de esta disciplina de arte contemporáneo. Contamos con la participación de un grupo de teóricos que trabajan en forma activa en la escena intelectual chilena. Ellos han participado en ponencias, foros, paneles, dando origen a una producción de escritura inédita importante. Este grupo lo constituye el filosofo Sergio Rojas, la crítica Literaria Eugenia Brito, el teórico del arte Ricardo Loebell, el escritor Juan Pablo Sutherland, el antropólogo Jaime Muñoz, el arquitecto y filosofo Jorge Michel, la periodista Carolina Lara, el artista visual Mauricio Bravo, la filosofa Cecilia Sánchez, el sociólogo Tomas Peters, la teórica en literatura Soledad Falabella, la teórica Joselin Contreras, los artistas de performance Samuel Ibarra y Gonzalo Rabanal, Perpetua Rodríguez, entre otros.
Entre los años 2000 al 2012 Deformes surge como una organización de artistas de performance en Chile que desarrolla un trabajo en red de conectividad, empezando en Latinoamérica y los Estados Unidos, para luego ampliar su trabajo a Europa y Asia. Con la creación de esta plataforma de artistas nacionales e internacionales surgida en esos primeros años, en el 2005 comienza la organización que da inicio a las tres primeras bienales internacionales de performance en Chile, en 2006, 2008 y 2010.
En ocasión de estos encuentros multiculturales originados en las bienales se ha dado cita a un numero inédito de artistas internacionales y nacionales de importancia, performistas o relacionados con este arte, lo que marca un precedente único de estudio y reflexión de este arte en Chile. Con esto hemos originados cruces de prácticas artísticas y teóricas coherentes que convocan al dialogo y la participación de diversos pensadores y artistas también en relación a las obras invitadas. En las tres primeras bienales, se ha creado y fortalecido esta plataforma de intercambio que ha permitido dar lugar a un escenario teórico y epistemológico en torno esta práctica. Estos encuentros han proporcionado un material de registro y de reflexión extremadamente interesante para nosotros.

Our organization arises from the union of different interests involved in the production, research, recording and analysis around the body and its expressive possibilities. A body understood not only from their individual physicality, but extended to their social and cultural projections that favor the development of a metaphoric and aesthetic discourse.
The purpose of our association has been to open new windows of dialogue and cultural exchange in the area of performance involving theoretical discourse of the discipline of contemporary art. We have the participation of a group of theorists working actively in the intellectual scene in Chile. They have participated in lectures, forums, panels, giving rise to a significant production of inedit writing. From 2000 to 2012 DEFORMES emerges as a organization of performance artist in Chile that develops networking connectivity, starting in Latin America and the United States and then expand their work to Europe and Asia. With the creation of this platform for national and international artists emerged in the early years, in 2005 the organization begins the first three international biennial of performance in Chile, in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
On the occasion of these multicultural meetings originated in biennial has been an appointment of unprecedented number of international and national artists of importance, performer, or related to art, which sets a precedent unique for study and reflection of this art in Chile. With this we have caused crossings of art practices and theoretical coherent summon the dialogue and the participation of various thinkers and artists also in relation to the invited works. In the first three biennial, has created and strengthened this exchange platform that has lead to theoretical and epistemological scenario around this practice. These meetings have provided a recording material for reflection and extremely interesting for us.
